Welcome to NatickParents.com!

Where the cool kids' parents are! OK, enough with the taglines. What is this site all about?
NatickParents.com is where the local parenting community can come to connect, to share information and advice, to join and to start conversations about what is important to us.

Join the conversation today!

Overview
Key Features/Functionality
In addition to editorial, third party and Parent Generated Content (PGC), NP will have all of the full social features that are expected by today’s web users.

Groups
Groups can be created by any member of NatickParents.com. This allows people with common interests to communicate easier and more exclusively with each other. Don't see a group for you? Create one!

Events
Registered NatickParents.com members can post details on upcoming events. Key functions include an RSVP feature as well as a guest list. You can leave the invite open, or invite just specific members or friends. Each event is given a designated page for RSVPs and event-based comments.

Forums
Enjoy the power and knowledge of the NP community's conversations. Any user can set up discussion forums that are used for members to pose questions/discussion topics to their friends/other network members. Each forum question/discussion topic has their own page associated to them.

Blogs
What do you want to write about? Natick Parents can create their own blog. The blogs contain a standard set of features that are present on all modern blog software packages. For example, commenting, archiving, tagging/categorizing are all present on a users blog.

Dining & Yellow Page Directory
Local venues and service providers. Out platform is very valuable in that Parents have the ability to comment, rate and recommend their experiences with businesses.

Photos
NatickParents.com members may upload photos to display on their main page or on other pages. Privacy settings can be specified for each image so that you can share with all, or just a specific group, or friends. Each photo is resized automatically to fit correctly on the website.

Videos
NP users can post a wide variety of video formats to their profile page. After posting the software will convert videos to a Flash format so that videos will be viewable without having to download additional plug-ins.

Chat
At the bottom of the home page the chat box displays online members allowing for quick chats and sharing of information

Latest Activity/Status Updates
Similar to the Facebook Wall, the main page and individual member pages have the option to display a “latest activity” feed. This feature will track many of the activities Natick Parents perform that friends/other network members may be interested in knowing. I hope that this feature does not get abused the way it does on Facebook. We’ll see…..

Using GoodSearch and GoodShop to raise money for Natick's Schools

I believe that some of Natick's schools have had some success raising money using GoodSearch in the past. I just wanted to let everyone know about the program.

GoodSearch is a search engine which donates 50-percent of its revenue to the charities and schools designated by its users. It's a simple and compelling concept.… Continue

Globe Staff / September 10, 2009

When Nouvelle was first marketed in 2007, some units sold for as much as $1.6 million. Bankrupt mall operator General Growth Properties is planning to auction off more than 40 high-end condominiums attached to the upscale Natick Collection with minimum bids starting at $160,000, about 70 percent below previous asking prices.
